Adams Resources & Energy, Inc. is primarily engaged in crude oil marketing, transportation, terminalling and storage in various crude oil and natural gas basins in the lower 48 states of the United States. The Company operates through three segments: crude oil marketing, transportation, and storage; tank truck transportation of liquid chemicals, pressurized gases, asphalt and dry bulk; and pipeline transportation, terminalling and storage of crude oil. Its crude oil marketing segment consists of the operations of its wholly owned subsidiary, GulfMark Energy, Inc. (GulfMark). Its transportation segment consists of the operations of its wholly owned subsidiary, Service Transport Company (STC). STC transports liquid chemicals, pressurized gases, asphalt, and dry bulk on a for hire basis throughout the continental United States and into Canada and Mexico. The Company's pipeline and storage segment consists of the operations of two wholly owned subsidiaries of GulfMark.
