3rd party software sales are forever an issue with Nintendo. They have old traditional Japanese guard leadership mentality and don't like to change unless big shots internally want to change.

1st party titles, as bad as they are, always thrive with Nintendo, because the weight of the marketing behind them is huge. 3rd party devs dont get much love.

I think Fornite has distracted kids from the games they would normally be playing and or wanting. My son is a great example, he's normally all about the new Call of Duty titleswhen they come out, but he has been so absorbed into fortnite for about a year now. That's all he and his friends play anymore really.

I agree 100%, also along the same lines, I think that the game industry in general will be in serious trouble in the near future, because of this instan-gratification mobile and free gaming trend. No one wants to pay for good games anymore, no one wants to wait for a system to update and load or install. I see dark times ahead to be honest .Times where all we have are c.rappy puzzle games on our phones. Let's hope there's a turnaround. Until then I'll enjoy RDR2

Welp, they done it. After sanitizing their chats with completely fascistic terms - users just started leaving. https://www.cnbc.com/2018/11/08/activision-blizzard-shares-fall-10-percent-after-reporting-decline-in-monthly-active-users.html Surprise - not every player is an oversensitive nutcase which spergs out when wind blows

Stop trying to make games for everyone like they did with WOW, Destiny 1 and 2, and Diablo Immortal now.  Focus on each of these markets and who is the core audience and dont market these games to everyone.  My female friends who play games like Candy Crush, Angry Birds, and other games like this might play these games for 100 hours a year.  They are not going to play DI period. ...Start making the MMORPGS for MMORPG gamers again.  Listen to the Classic WOW fan for what they want with Classic WOW.  If Blizzard wants to make another WOW block buster dont make a casual MMORPG.  Look at ESO, SWTOR, current WOW and the rest.  Making games that players can complete all the content that takes 2 years or more to make in 3 months is pointless.  You lose money this way....Break into the Mobile market with non MicroTransaction games with different IPs. Focus on casual short periods of fun here....Keep making games like HOTS, HS, and OW for Esports dont make MMORPGS Esports. ...Every game shouldnt be for all

The problem here is Publicly traded companies and investors want to make money off the customer at an ever higher rate of return.  The problem is the Gaming industry is not where you will make that money by taking established games and changing the market for those games plus adding microtransactions.   First Microtransations are bad overall for the long term stability of games, great in short term money but as gamers move away from the EA and ATVI companies back to privately owned companies that dont try to nickle and dime gamers you will lose money....Second you dont break from your core audience.  Its like taking a Corvette and saying we will no longer put a V8 in the vet so we can now sell more 4 cylinder  Vets to Tree Huggers.  Stupid move that would cost Chevy billions just to try to market a product for a different market....Moving forward how do we fix this.  Make DI for mobile but make it a single time paid game, not micro transactions.  As a father I wouldnt let my kids play it

This is what investors and Blizzard Activision get for pushing a Micro Transactions to milk people out of their money with casual games made for everyone with paywalls.   Both groups think they can milk the gamers for thousands of dollars a year and get rich off it.  Sorry this is not a get rich fast industry.  What made Blizzard make so much money?   A MMORPG which was designed around grinding and spending months of your life playing the game.   It ended up a very successful game because people would rather be invested into a game that made them put forth the effort or fail. ...You should know your audience and making Diablo for mobile is not smart period.  Making a Mobile game which will be heavily microtransaction based players have hated these for years.  Yes Candy Crush makes a lot of money, but those people who play Candy Crush on the toilet are not going to start magically playing Diablo on their phones....You think you do but you dont.

I was trying to argue for the possibilities of mobile platform more than do any comparison between the two games. From a business standpoint I think reaching out to mobile makes sense, seeing how it's not really away from Blizzard developing the next installation of the series (not developed by the core D team). But I guess we'll get to see the fruits of this decision when the next true successor to Diablo is released ...which will probably be another decade if Blizzard keeps it's pace with cranking new installations to the classic series (WarCraft / StarCraft / Diablo)

I follow your thinking but I doubt that mobile-only players can be convinced to invest in a PC to go play there. It's another gamerprofile, but we'll see how it plays out.

Looking at Candy Crush, a Diablo mobile game could Be a great thing... Not to mention the possibility of D:I functioning as a bridge for potential new people (customers) to the realm of Diablo. Sand mark my words, Blizzcon next year will bring us Diablo 2 remastered.

Will gain around $3 per share with Nov. 1 earning report IMO.  Overwatch league expansion, ESPN deal, and Activision COD sales will give the company significant gains.  In addition, new WoW expansion had stellar sales, and being that Blizzcon is around the corner, a new "diablo" is rumored to be in the works (Diablo is a top seller for Blizz).  ATVI will be a juggernaut in the Esports industry that is currently have rapid growth, especially in China!  Don't let Fortnite discourge you, that game is already losing viewer ship and has just peaked their player base, not a strong Esport for the future.  Good stock to buy now, but don't wait till 2019.
