Glencore, the worlds largest coal producer, is changing their business model and is now capping annual production of coal. Glencore was almost bankrupt when Trump took office.  Trump was pumping up coal at that same time.  What a bozo sometimes..Glencore is now investing in Cobalt, Zinc and copper to focus on battery metals.  I'm thinking we will see another surge in uranium demand in the near future as countries, primarily China and India, wind down their coal plants to reduce carbon footprint/pollution..As well zinc is an immediate byproduct of silver mines. Silver is also heavily used in the electronic industry.  Just an fyi.

Question... how can a country commit to buying from another when the companies and businesses within that country, can source the same product from else where, cheaper? So given the current yuan/dollar exchange rate, its more expensive for China to buy its goods and services from the US as opposed to somewhere like say Brazil. It’s all about business and making money, so trumps plans are not stacking up. Sorry trump! But you need to go back to the drawing board

thats why Trump is attacking China because they are manipulating they're own currently and placing restrictions on foreigners trading in China, its also why he's attacking the EU for same thing but he doesnt have to be so public about it

IntelM The reason why China is manipulating their currency is a direct result of Trump's doing with tariffs.  China's export become less expensive with a devalued Yuan.  So to say Trump is attacking China due to a devalued currency is totally backwards. Remove the tariffs and China will move the Yuan up again.

So if you are at the end of the cycle with historically low rates, high debts, hot economy and rising inflation... what do you think will happen? Cause in normal circumstances, rates would already be much higher and the economy would already have spare capacity. Think about it carefully.... central banks have experimented with monetary policy... but we are now at a dead end... if we are at the end of an economic cycle with rates already low, with extremely high debt levels, how can they raise rates to stop inflation? Simple answer is they cant. Stagflation is coming.... believe me!

The question now becomes....are we really at the end of the economic cycle or is it going to catch wind and go for another run.  Can't discount it completely. If all of Trumps tariff's and revised bi-lateral trade agreements come to fruition we could see global economies growth.  A tough one would be Euro and UK. They could spark a global recession.  As well the US rates are not high at the moment which is required for stagflation. Fed's are keeping tight with maintaining the target  inflation rate at any expense.
