Iran conflict latest: Trump says Iranian negotiators "begging" for peace deal
Micron Technology (NASDAQ:MU) is a global leader in advanced memory and storage solutions that help turn data into actionable intelligence. Its shares have surged amid the AI boom, as its products play a critical role in infrastructure by addressing common memory bottlenecks.
The company delivered outstanding results, outperforming our consensus on both revenue and earnings as AI demand accelerated. Revenue rose over 55% year-over-year to a record high, while adjusted EPS surged about 185%.
Key highlights:
- Analysts forecast Micron’s Q2 revenue at $19.17 billion, up from $8.05 billion a year ago, and expect EPS of $8.61 versus $1.56 a year earlier.
- The company has beaten revenue estimates in four straight quarters (nine of the last ten) and topped EPS forecasts in eight consecutive quarters (nine of ten). Micron’s guidance calls for revenue of $18.3–$19.1 billion and EPS of $8.22–$8.62.
- Micron shares have surged over the past year, up 640% from their April 2025 lows, making them one of the top S&P 500 performers. In 2025, the stock gained 239.1%, ranking third in the S&P 500, and that momentum has carried into 2026. Beyond the rebound from the lows, the shares remain substantially higher both year-over-year and year-to-date.
- Micron is the first of its peers to report this season. While the peer group has averaged a 6% decline over the past month, Micron has risen about 12% in the same period.
- The company said it bought a site from Powerchip Semiconductor Manufacturing, located near one of its existing facilities. The acquisition is intended to boost Micron’s DRAM production capacity, including High Bandwidth Memory (HBM) to meet rising AI-driven demand.
- Wall Street is anticipating a sharp acceleration in Micron’s financial performance, driven by rising memory prices and robust demand from data center and AI applications.
- AI-driven demand is fueling a memory cycle upswing. Micron’s rally reflects broader gains across semiconductors, especially firms tied to AI infrastructure. The rapid expansion of data centers and AI servers has tightened supply for high-performance memory DRAM & HBM and pushed prices up. That has widened margins for memory makers while increasing cost pressures for consumer electronics manufacturers.
- Industry leaders warn supply constraints will persist. SK Group’s chairman says the wafer shortage could last until 2030. To meet demand, Micron is expanding capacity, including a new DRAM facility at Tongluo, Taiwan.
Analysts Expectation:
- Lynx Equity Strategies raised Micron Technology’s (MU) price target to a street-high $700.
- A Bernstein SocGen Group analyst reiterated an “outperform” rating on Micron (MU), raising the price target to $510 from $330.
- RBC Capital raised its price target on Micron Technology (MU) to $525 from $425, while maintaining an Outperform rating.
