Investing.com – United Arab Emirates stocks were lower after the close on Sunday, as losses in the Finance & Investment, Consumer Staples and Real Estate & Construction sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Dubai, the DFM General fell 1.26% to hit a new 3-months low, while the ADX General index declined 1.09%.
The best performers of the session on the DFM General were Dubai Islamic Insurance Co. (DU:AMAN), which rose 6.36% or 0.032 points to trade at 0.535 at the close. Meanwhile, Amanat Holdings PJSC (DU:AMANT) added 4.64% or 0.043 points to end at 0.970 and ARAMEX PJSC (DU:ARMX) was up 4.24% or 0.160 points to 3.930 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were SHUAA Capital PSC (DU:SHUA), which fell 8.51% or 0.120 points to trade at 1.290 at the close. Dubai National Insurance (DU:DNIN) declined 8.20% or 0.210 points to end at 2.350 and National Central Cooling Co. (DU:TABR) was down 4.35% or 0.090 points to 1.980.
The top performers on the ADX General were Methaq (AD:METH) which rose 6.25% to 0.850, Eshraq Properties Co PJSC (AD:ESHR) which was up 4.90% to settle at 1.0700 and Agthia Group (AD:AGTH) which gained 4.00% to close at 6.24.
The worst performers were Arkan Building Materials Co PJSC (AD:ARKN) which was down 8.33% to 0.8800 in late trade, Int Fish Farmi (AD:ASMK) which lost 7.93% to settle at 1.51 and Aldar Properti (AD:ALDR) which was down 4.23% to 2.490 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Dubai Stock Exchange by 25 to 8 and 5 ended unchanged; on the Abu Dhabi Stock Exchange, 12 fell and 10 advanced, while 2 ended unchanged.
Shares in Amanat Holdings PJSC (DU:AMANT) rose to 52-week highs; up 4.64% or 0.043 to 0.970. Shares in Eshraq Properties Co PJSC (AD:ESHR) rose to 52-week highs; up 4.90% or 0.0500 to 1.0700.
Crude oil for December delivery was down 3.43% or 1.53 to $43.13 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in January fell 2.79% or 1.28 to hit $44.56 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 3.10% or 39.25 to trade at $1227.15 a troy ounce.
USD/AED was down 0.00% to 3.6730, while EUR/AED fell 0.29% to 3.9898.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.20% at 98.99.
