Investing.com – Turkey stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Holdings & Investments, Food & Beverages and Banking sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 fell 1.46%.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Turcas Petrol (IS:TRCAS), which rose 6.43% or 0.110 points to trade at 1.820 at the close. Meanwhile, Nurol Gmyo (IS:NUGYO) added 2.03% or 0.090 points to end at 4.530 and Bim Magazalar (IS:BIMAS) was up 2.03% or 1.15 points to 57.70 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Otokar (IS:OTKAR), which fell 7.85% or 11.30 points to trade at 132.70 at the close. Ihlas Holding (IS:IHLAS) declined 6.98% or 0.030 points to end at 0.400 and Galatasaray Sportif (IS:GSRAY) was down 6.09% or 1.72 points to 26.54.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 234 to 107 and 64 ended unchanged.
Shares in Turcas Petrol (IS:TRCAS) rose to 52-week highs; rising 6.43% or 0.110 to 1.820.
Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.72% or 8.75 to $1207.35 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April fell 1.66% or 0.88 to hit $52.26 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract fell 1.43% or 0.80 to trade at $55.12 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 1.31% to 3.7290, while EUR/TRY rose 1.19% to 3.9364.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.25% at 102.06.
