Investing.com – Turkey stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Basic Metals, Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic and Electricity sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 lost 1.42%.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Ihlas Holding (IS:IHLAS), which rose 12.50% or 0.030 points to trade at 0.270 at the close. Meanwhile, Dogan Holding (IS:DOHOL) added 2.08% or 0.010 points to end at 0.490 and Kartonsan (IS:KARTN) was up 1.88% or 5.00 points to 271.40 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Pegasus (IS:PGSUS), which fell 5.83% or 0.860 points to trade at 13.900 at the close. Gubre Fabrik. (IS:GUBRF) declined 4.63% or 0.27 points to end at 5.56 and Tekfen Holding (IS:TKFEN) was down 4.28% or 0.31 points to 6.94.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 244 to 103 and 62 ended unchanged.
Shares in Ihlas Holding (IS:IHLAS) rose to 52-week highs; up 12.50% or 0.030 to 0.270. Shares in Pegasus (IS:PGSUS) fell to all time lows; down 5.83% or 0.860 to 13.900.
Gold for August delivery was up 0.83% or 10.45 to $1272.75 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 1.29% or 0.66 to hit $50.57 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 1.09% or 0.57 to trade at $51.94 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.16% to 2.8975, while EUR/TRY fell 0.48% to 3.2828.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.45% at 94.01.
