Investing.com – Turkey stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Basic Metals, Textile & Leather and Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 gained 1.63%.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Vestel (IS:VESTL), which rose 10.36% or 0.430 points to trade at 4.580 at the close. Meanwhile, Vestel Beyaz Esya (IS:VESBE) added 8.06% or 0.850 points to end at 11.400 and Odas Elektrik (IS:ODAS) was up 7.29% or 0.470 points to 6.920 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Turk Telekom (IS:TTKOM), which fell 2.22% or 0.14 points to trade at 6.16 at the close. Koza Altin (IS:KOZAL) declined 1.85% or 0.45 points to end at 23.90 and Aselsan (IS:ASELS) was down 0.70% or 0.10 points to 14.10.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 309 to 86 and 15 ended unchanged.
Gold for December delivery was down 0.13% or 1.50 to $1123.10 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 8.68% or 3.35 to hit $41.95 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 7.92% or 3.42 to trade at $46.55 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.77% to 2.9093, while EUR/TRY fell 1.43% to 3.2707.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.58% at 95.86.
