Investing.com – Turkey stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Transport, Textile & Leather and Basic Metals sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 gained 1.40% to hit a new 6-months high.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Turk Hava Yollari (IS:THYAO), which rose 5.77% or 0.300 points to trade at 5.500 at the close. Meanwhile, Metro Holding (IS:METRO) added 5.49% or 0.050 points to end at 0.960 and Tekfen Holding (IS:TKFEN) was up 4.63% or 0.33 points to 7.45 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Ihlas Holding (IS:IHLAS), which fell 3.03% or 0.010 points to trade at 0.320 at the close. Besiktas Futbol Yat. (IS:BJKAS) declined 2.93% or 0.140 points to end at 4.640 and Otokar (IS:OTKAR) was down 2.61% or 3.60 points to 134.50.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 221 to 114 and 71 ended unchanged.
Gold for February delivery was down 0.17% or 2.10 to $1213.50 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 1.18% or 0.62 to hit $53.37 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract rose 0.91% or 0.50 to trade at $55.73 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.20% to 3.7643, while EUR/TRY rose 0.09% to 4.0495.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.10% at 100.05.
