Investing.com – Turkey stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Basic Metals, Wholesale & Retail Trade and Telecoms sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 gained 0.89% to hit a new all time high.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Alarko Holding (IS:ALARK), which rose 4.24% or 0.230 points to trade at 5.650 at the close. Meanwhile, Global Yat. Holding (IS:GLYHO) added 3.56% or 0.100 points to end at 2.910 and Eregli Demir Celik (IS:EREGL) was up 2.99% or 0.180 points to 6.200 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Koza Madencilik (IS:KOZAA), which fell 8.70% or 0.200 points to trade at 2.100 at the close. Tat Konserve (IS:TATGD) declined 5.23% or 0.380 points to end at 6.880 and Besiktas Futbol Yat. (IS:BJKAS) was down 2.90% or 0.150 points to 5.020.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 200 to 127 and 79 ended unchanged.
Shares in Alarko Holding (IS:ALARK) rose to 3-years highs; up 4.24% or 0.230 to 5.650. Shares in Eregli Demir Celik (IS:EREGL) rose to all time highs; gaining 2.99% or 0.180 to 6.200.
Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.91% or 11.64 to $1265.86 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 0.49% or 0.24 to hit $48.99 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 0.42% or 0.22 to trade at $51.91 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.30% to 3.5826, while EUR/TRY rose 0.97% to 3.9207.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.25% at 98.66.
