Investing.com – Turkey stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Sports, Information Technology and Basic Metals sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 gained 0.76%.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Galatasaray Sportif (IS:GSRAY), which rose 7.34% or 1.60 points to trade at 23.40 at the close. Meanwhile, Otokar (IS:OTKAR) added 4.56% or 3.35 points to end at 76.75 and Gsd Holding (IS:GSDHO) was up 4.13% or 0.050 points to 1.260 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Ihlas Holding (IS:IHLAS), which fell 4.35% or 0.010 points to trade at 0.220 at the close. Aksa (IS:AKSA) declined 3.45% or 0.35 points to end at 9.80 and Sasa Polyester (IS:SASA) was down 2.99% or 0.070 points to 2.270.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 234 to 163 and 14 ended unchanged.
Gold for December delivery was down 0.04% or 0.50 to $1133.50 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 5.82% or 2.63 to hit $47.85 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 5.00% or 2.50 to trade at $52.55 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.42% to 2.9117, while EUR/TRY fell 0.35% to 3.2607.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.03% at 96.12.
