Investing.com – Turkey stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Basic Metals, Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic and Metal Products & Machinery sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 gained 0.51%.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Cemtas Celik Makina Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:CEMTS), which rose 5.08% or 0.280 points to trade at 5.790 at the close. Meanwhile, Ford Otomotiv Sanayi AS (IS:FROTO) added 4.60% or 2.30 points to end at 52.35 and Tekfen Holding AS (IS:TKFEN) was up 3.93% or 0.82 points to 21.70 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Yazicilar Holding AS (IS:AGHOL), which fell 3.33% or 0.35 points to trade at 10.15 at the close. Halk Gayrimenkul Yatirim Ortakligi AS (IS:HLGYO) declined 2.90% or 0.020 points to end at 0.670 and Turkiye Sinai Kalkinma Bankasi AS (IS:TSKB) was down 2.70% or 0.020 points to 0.720.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 197 to 158 and 52 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.38% or 4.90 to $1290.80 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 2.81% or 1.40 to hit $51.18 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract rose 2.33% or 1.37 to trade at $60.09 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.31% to 5.4973, while EUR/TRY rose 0.98% to 6.3304.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.52% at 94.980.
