Investing.com – Turkey stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic, Basic Metals and Textile & Leather sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 gained 0.25% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Turkiye Petrol Rafinerileri AS (IS:TUPRS), which rose 5.34% or 6.20 points to trade at 122.20 at the close. Meanwhile, SASA Polyester Sanayi AS (IS:SASA) added 4.15% or 0.420 points to end at 10.530 and ODAS Elektrik Uretim Sanayi Ticaret AS (IS:ODAS) was up 4.15% or 0.230 points to 5.770 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Tekfen Holding AS (IS:TKFEN), which fell 3.48% or 0.55 points to trade at 15.26 at the close. Anel Elektrik Proje Taahhut ve Ticaret AS (IS:ANELE) declined 2.79% or 0.090 points to end at 3.140 and Netas Telekomunikasyon AS (IS:NETAS) was down 2.60% or 0.41 points to 15.36.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 191 to 164 and 50 ended unchanged.
Shares in SASA Polyester Sanayi AS (IS:SASA) rose to all time highs; up 4.15% or 0.420 to 10.530.
Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.25% or 3.20 to $1267.40 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 0.52% or 0.30 to hit $57.86 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 0.67% or 0.43 to trade at $64.23 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.30% to 3.8221, while EUR/TRY rose 0.05% to 4.5425.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.18% at 92.88.
