Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the , Oil, Gas & Electricity and Textile sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted fell 0.18%.
The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Crowell (TW:2528), which rose 10.00% or 1.10 points to trade at 12.10 at the close. Meanwhile, Sintronic Tech (TW:3536) added 9.95% or 2.10 points to end at 23.20 and Alpha Networks (TW:3380) was up 9.89% or 2.60 points to 28.90 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Genesis Photon (TW:3383), which fell 10.00% or 0.36 points to trade at 3.24 at the close. Pihsiang (TW:1729) declined 9.90% or 1.90 points to end at 17.30 and Enlight Corp (TW:2438) was down 7.16% or 0.72 points to 9.33.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 394 to 364 and 117 ended unchanged.
Shares in Crowell (TW:2528) rose to 52-week highs; rising 10.00% or 1.10 to 12.10. Shares in Pihsiang (TW:1729) fell to all time lows; down 9.90% or 1.90 to 17.30. Shares in Alpha Networks (TW:3380) rose to 3-years highs; rising 9.89% or 2.60 to 28.90.
Crude oil for June delivery was down 0.51% or 0.25 to $48.41 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in July fell 0.37% or 0.19 to hit $51.46 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract rose 0.59% or 7.28 to trade at $1243.68 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.07% to 30.133, while TWD/CNY rose 0.35% to 0.2301.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.31% at 97.80.
