Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Electronic Parts/Components, Semiconductor and Machinery sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted added 0.15%.
The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Teapo Electronic Corp (TW:2375), which rose 9.92% or 2.45 points to trade at 27.15 at the close. Meanwhile, Sumagh High Tech Corp (TW:1475) added 9.79% or 1.90 points to end at 21.30 and Yageo Corp (TW:2327) was up 9.66% or 10.00 points to 113.50 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were AOPEN Inc (TW:3046), which fell 9.96% or 0.48 points to trade at 4.34 at the close. CoAdna Holdings Inc (TW:4984) declined 6.24% or 2.95 points to end at 44.30 and Pal Wonn Taiwan Co Ltd (TW:2429) was down 5.28% or 0.80 points to 14.35.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 394 to 363 and 118 ended unchanged.
Shares in Teapo Electronic Corp (TW:2375) rose to 5-year highs; up 9.92% or 2.45 to 27.15. Shares in Sumagh High Tech Corp (TW:1475) rose to 3-years highs; up 9.79% or 1.90 to 21.30. Shares in CoAdna Holdings Inc (TW:4984) fell to 52-week lows; down 6.24% or 2.95 to 44.30. Shares in Yageo Corp (TW:2327) rose to all time highs; up 9.66% or 10.00 to 113.50.
Crude oil for July delivery was up 0.68% or 0.31 to $46.03 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in August rose 0.83% or 0.40 to hit $48.46 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.24% or 3.07 to trade at $1290.13 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.05% to 30.102, while TWD/CNY unchanged 0.00% to 0.2265.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.03% at 96.64.
