Investing.com – Spain stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Financial Services & Real Estate, Building & Construction and Consumer Goods sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 declined 0.86%.
The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Mediaset ESP (MC:TL5), which rose 1.70% or 0.161 points to trade at 9.644 at the close. Meanwhile, Tecnicas Reunidas (MC:TRE) added 1.43% or 0.380 points to end at 27.030 and Grifols SA (MC:GRLS) was up 1.34% or 0.315 points to 23.865 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Caixabank SA (MC:CABK), which fell 3.79% or 0.162 points to trade at 4.110 at the close. Mapfre (MC:MAP) declined 3.17% or 0.090 points to end at 2.753 and ArcelorMittal SA (MC:MTS) was down 2.82% or 0.610 points to 21.040.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 110 to 63 and 20 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 1.05% or 13.66 to $1311.16 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 2.25% or 1.14 to hit $51.80 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 2.64% or 1.49 to trade at $57.91 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.95% to 1.1843, while EUR/GBP fell 0.45% to 0.8808.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.57% at 92.47.
