Investing.com – Spain stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Building & Construction, Consumer Services and Telecoms & IT sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 rose 1.46%.
The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Gamesa (MC:GAM), which rose 5.80% or 0.980 points to trade at 17.880 at the close. Meanwhile, Arcel. Mittal (MC:MTS) added 5.76% or 0.257 points to end at 4.720 and Int.Airl.Grp (MC:ICAG) was up 4.49% or 0.197 points to 4.582 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Banco Popular (MC:POP), which fell 1.11% or 0.013 points to trade at 1.161 at the close. Endesa (MC:ELE) declined 0.11% or 0.020 points to end at 18.240 and Mapfre (MC:MAP) was down 0.05% or 0.001 points to 1.989.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 163 to 34 and 19 ended unchanged.
Gold for August delivery was up 0.08% or 1.05 to $1359.45 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 1.21% or 0.55 to hit $44.86 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 1.18% or 0.55 to trade at $46.21 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.00% to 1.1050, while EUR/GBP fell 0.06% to 0.8518.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.35% at 96.65.
