Investing.com – Russia stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Manufacturing, Oil & Gas and Telecoms sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Moscow, the MICEX fell 0.52%.
The best performers of the session on the MICEX were United Company Rusal Plc (MCX:RUAL), which rose 3.75% or 0.890 points to trade at 24.600 at the close. Meanwhile, DIXY Group ao (MCX:DIXY) added 1.79% or 5.60 points to end at 318.30 and Lenta Ltd (MCX:LNTA) was up 1.41% or 6 points to 432 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Sberbank (MCX:SBER), which fell 3.70% or 4.58 points to trade at 119.17 at the close. Aeroflot (MCX:AFLT) declined 3.18% or 2.46 points to end at 74.80 and Ros Agro PLC (MCX:AGRO) was down 2.71% or 31 points to 1115.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 124 to 96 and 16 ended unchanged.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MICEX options, was down 3.43% to 33.530.
Gold for June delivery was down 0.20% or 2.50 to $1251.90 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 0.79% or 0.35 to hit $43.83 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract fell 1.09% or 0.50 to trade at $45.30 a barrel.
USD/RUB was up 1.31% to 66.0462, while EUR/RUB rose 1.44% to 74.632.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.01% at 94.53.
