Investing.com – Russia stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Manufacturing, Oil & Gas and Power sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Moscow, the MICEX declined 0.05%.
The best performers of the session on the MICEX were FSK EES (MCX:FEES), which rose 4.92% or 0.0038 points to trade at 0.0822 at the close. Meanwhile, Severstal - ao (MCX:CHMF) added 4.54% or 30.90 points to end at 711.00 and MMK (MCX:MAGN) was up 3.22% or 0.680 points to 21.780 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were E.ON Russia (MCX:EONR), which fell 3.47% or 0.0940 points to trade at 2.6160 at the close. VTB (MCX:VTBR) declined 2.44% or 0.0018 points to end at 0.0735 and Polymetal International PLC (MCX:POLY) was down 1.71% or 12.00 points to 689.50.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 124 to 91 and 16 ended unchanged.
Shares in FSK EES (MCX:FEES) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 4.92% or 0.0038 to 0.0822.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MICEX options, was up 0.61% to 34.630.
Gold for April delivery was up 0.27% or 3.40 to $1247.60 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May fell 0.51% or 0.21 to hit $41.31 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract rose 0.19% or 0.08 to trade at $41.62 a barrel.
USD/RUB was down 0.76% to 67.3188, while EUR/RUB fell 0.97% to 75.511.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.27% at 95.66.
