Investing.com – Russia stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Manufacturing and Telecoms sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Moscow, the MICEX gained 1.47%.
The best performers of the session on the MICEX were Tatneft-3 (MCX:TATN), which rose 5.27% or 18.45 points to trade at 368.55 at the close. Meanwhile, Yandex NV (MCX:YNDX) added 5.22% or 76.50 points to end at 1541.00 and Ros Agro PLC (MCX:AGRODR) was up 5.12% or 31 points to 636 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Gruppa LSR PAO (MCX:LSRG), which fell 9.85% or 87.0 points to trade at 796.0 at the close. Severstal - ao (MCX:CHMF) declined 4.57% or 32.80 points to end at 684.20 and Polyus Zoloto OAO (MCX:PLZL) was down 3.16% or 134.0 points to 4102.0.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 123 to 84 and 16 ended unchanged.
Shares in Polyus Zoloto OAO (MCX:PLZL) fell to 52-week lows; down 3.16% or 134.0 to 4102.0.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MICEX options, was up 0.24% to 24.590.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.53% or 6.71 to $1249.79 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 0.85% or 0.38 to hit $44.59 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 0.74% or 0.35 to trade at $47.02 a barrel.
USD/RUB was up 1.13% to 58.4293, while EUR/RUB rose 0.58% to 65.0525.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.27% at 97.13.
