Investing.com – Portugal stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Utilities, Consumer Services and Technology sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 fell 1.74% to hit a new 3-months low.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were Sonae (LS:YSO), which rose 4.45% or 0.0320 points to trade at 0.7510 at the close. Meanwhile, Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP) added 2.35% or 0.0270 points to end at 1.1770 and CTT Correios de Portugal SA (LS:CTT) was up 0.95% or 0.0590 points to 6.2800 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were EDP Renovaveis (LS:EDPR), which fell 5.82% or 0.3540 points to trade at 5.7320 at the close. EDP (LS:EDP) declined 4.96% or 0.1410 points to end at 2.6990 and J. Martins SGPS (LS:JMT) was down 3.33% or 0.5200 points to 15.0750.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 26 to 20 and 6 ended unchanged.
Shares in EDP Renovaveis (LS:EDPR) fell to 52-week lows; falling 5.82% or 0.3540 to 5.7320.
Brent oil for January delivery was down 1.12% or 0.52 to $45.84 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 1.33% or 0.60 to hit $44.67 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.56% or 7.15 to trade at $1266.35 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.22% to 1.0886, while EUR/GBP fell 1.23% to 0.8686.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.16% at 98.82.
