Investing.com – Portugal stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Telecoms, Financials and Consumer Goods sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 lost 0.37%.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were Mota Engil (LS:MOTA), which rose 4.45% or 0.0930 points to trade at 2.1810 at the close. Meanwhile, CTT Correios de Portugal SA (LS:CTT) added 0.60% or 0.0300 points to end at 5.0610 and Galp Energia Nom (LS:GALP) was up 0.59% or 0.0850 points to 14.5200 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA), which fell 3.71% or 0.0130 points to trade at 0.3370 at the close. Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP) declined 2.17% or 0.0040 points to end at 0.1805 and Sonae (LS:YSO) was down 1.07% or 0.0100 points to 0.9210.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 19 to 17 and 9 ended unchanged.
Shares in Mota Engil (LS:MOTA) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 4.45% or 0.0930 to 2.1810. Shares in Galp Energia Nom (LS:GALP) rose to 5-year highs; gaining 0.59% or 0.0850 to 14.5200.
Brent oil for June delivery was up 0.69% or 0.38 to $55.27 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May rose 1.03% or 0.53 to hit $52.23 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract rose 1.06% or 13.25 to trade at $1266.55 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.39% to 1.0602, while EUR/GBP rose 0.21% to 0.8556.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.30% at 100.91.
