Investing.com – Portugal stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Consumer Goods, Financials and Consumer Services sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 fell 0.11%.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were Galp Energia Nom (LS:GALP), which rose 1.18% or 0.1600 points to trade at 13.7200 at the close. Meanwhile, Semapa (LS:SEM) added 1.04% or 0.1800 points to end at 17.4500 and Mota Engil (LS:MOTA) was up 0.84% or 0.0210 points to 2.5100 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Corticeira Amorim (LS:CORA), which fell 2.12% or 0.265 points to trade at 12.250 at the close. Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP) declined 1.91% or 0.0048 points to end at 0.2462 and Sonae (LS:YSO) was down 1.11% or 0.0110 points to 0.9840.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 21 to 14 and 7 ended unchanged.
Shares in Semapa (LS:SEM) rose to all time highs; rising 1.04% or 0.1800 to 17.4500.
Brent oil for September delivery was up 1.23% or 0.60 to $49.44 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 1.16% or 0.54 to hit $46.94 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.08% or 1.00 to trade at $1240.90 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.32% to 1.1517, while EUR/GBP fell 0.26% to 0.8836.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.14% at 94.58.
