Investing.com – Portugal stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Consumer Services, Basic Materials and Utilities sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 declined 0.24%.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were Mota Engil (LS:MOTA), which rose 1.27% or 0.0500 points to trade at 4.0000 at the close. Meanwhile, Galp Energia Nom (LS:GALP) added 1.15% or 0.1850 points to end at 16.2800 and Sonae Capital (LS:SONAC) was up 0.85% or 0.0080 points to 0.9510 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Ibersol SGPS (LS:IBS), which fell 2.06% or 0.250 points to trade at 11.900 at the close. EDP (LS:EDP) declined 1.16% or 0.0340 points to end at 2.8860 and J. Martins SGPS (LS:JMT) was down 1.10% or 0.1850 points to 16.5750.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 20 to 14 and 7 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for March delivery was up 0.77% or 0.53 to $69.73 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 1.42% or 0.90 to hit $64.47 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.23% or 3.10 to trade at $1322.40 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.74% to 1.2036, while EUR/GBP rose 0.49% to 0.8889.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.51% at 91.64.
