Portugal stocks lower at close of trade; PSI 20 down 0.10%

Investing.com – Portugal stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Basic Materials, Industrials and Consumer Goods sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 lost 0.10%.

The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were EDP Renovaveis (LS:EDPR), which rose 2.26% or 0.1850 points to trade at 8.3550 at the close. Meanwhile, Nos SGPS SA (LS:NOS) added 1.70% or 0.0800 points to end at 4.7940 and CTT Correios de Portugal SA (LS:CTT) was up 1.17% or 0.0340 points to 2.9340 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were The Navigator Company SA (LS:NVGR), which fell 2.76% or 0.1650 points to trade at 5.8200 at the close. Altri SGPS (LS:ALSS) declined 1.70% or 0.1500 points to end at 8.6800 and Semapa (LS:SEM) was down 1.65% or 0.4000 points to 23.8000.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 17 to 17 and 4 ended unchanged.

Shares in EDP Renovaveis (LS:EDPR) rose to all time highs; rising 2.26% or 0.1850 to 8.3550.

Brent oil for August delivery was down 0.86% or 0.66 to $76.08 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 0.03% or 0.02 to hit $66.62 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.49% or 6.40 to trade at $1307.70 a troy ounce.

EUR/USD was down 1.34% to 1.1633, while EUR/GBP fell 0.79% to 0.8746.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 1.02% at 94.51.
