Investing.com – Portugal stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Financials, Consumer Services and Industrials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 gained 1.29% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP), which rose 3.98% or 0.0060 points to trade at 0.1567 at the close. Meanwhile, Altri SGPS (LS:ALSS) added 3.30% or 0.1420 points to end at 4.4460 and Sonae (LS:YSO) was up 2.65% or 0.0220 points to 0.8510 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Montepio (LS:MPIO), which fell 9.38% or 0.044 points to trade at 0.425 at the close. Semapa (LS:SEM) declined 0.83% or 0.1150 points to end at 13.7350 and EDP (LS:EDP) was down 0.38% or 0.0110 points to 2.9080.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 25 to 11 and 7 ended unchanged.
Shares in Altri SGPS (LS:ALSS) rose to 52-week highs; rising 3.30% or 0.1420 to 4.4460.
Brent oil for May delivery was down 0.28% or 0.16 to $56.35 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April fell 0.37% or 0.20 to hit $53.81 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract fell 0.56% or 7.05 to trade at $1246.85 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.12% to 1.0564, while EUR/GBP rose 0.50% to 0.8585.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.30% at 101.63.
