Investing.com – Portugal stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Financials, Telecoms and Utilities sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 gained 0.69%.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were Sonae Capital (LS:SONAC), which rose 4.92% or 0.0300 points to trade at 0.6400 at the close. Meanwhile, Galp Energia Nom (LS:GALP) added 2.69% or 0.3000 points to end at 11.4500 and Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP) was up 2.11% or 0.0007 points to 0.0339 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA), which fell 2.17% or 0.0030 points to trade at 0.1350 at the close. Corticeira Amorim (LS:CORA) declined 1.28% or 0.087 points to end at 6.713 and Semapa (LS:SEM) was down 1.25% or 0.1400 points to 11.0800.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 31 to 14 and 6 ended unchanged.
Shares in Sonae Capital (LS:SONAC) rose to 5-year highs; up 4.92% or 0.0300 to 0.6400.
Brent oil for June delivery was up 3.83% or 1.64 to $44.47 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May rose 3.64% or 1.47 to hit $41.83 a barrel, while the June Gold contract fell 0.06% or 0.80 to trade at $1257.20 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.23% to 1.1382, while EUR/GBP fell 0.30% to 0.7985.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.13% at 94.09.
