Investing.com – Portugal stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Telecoms, Consumer Services and Basic Materials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 added 0.55% to hit a new 6-months high.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were Mota Engil (LS:MOTA), which rose 2.93% or 0.0540 points to trade at 1.8940 at the close. Meanwhile, J. Martins SGPS (LS:JMT) added 1.76% or 0.2900 points to end at 16.7700 and Semapa (LS:SEM) was up 1.49% or 0.2100 points to 14.3000 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA), which fell 1.05% or 0.0040 points to trade at 0.3760 at the close. Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP) declined 0.91% or 0.0018 points to end at 0.1961 and Altri SGPS (LS:ALSS) was down 0.48% or 0.0200 points to 4.1900.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 21 to 14 and 8 ended unchanged.
Shares in J. Martins SGPS (LS:JMT) rose to 3-years highs; gaining 1.76% or 0.2900 to 16.7700. Shares in Semapa (LS:SEM) rose to all time highs; gaining 1.49% or 0.2100 to 14.3000.
Brent oil for June delivery was up 0.40% or 0.21 to $53.34 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May rose 0.22% or 0.11 to hit $50.46 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract rose 0.08% or 0.95 to trade at $1245.95 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.22% to 1.0699, while EUR/GBP fell 0.41% to 0.8527.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.32% at 100.13.
