Investing.com – Portugal stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Industrials, Financials and Consumer Services sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 gained 0.59% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were Altri SGPS (LS:ALSS), which rose 2.84% or 0.1500 points to trade at 5.4330 at the close. Meanwhile, Sonae (LS:YSO) added 2.55% or 0.0270 points to end at 1.0840 and Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP) was up 2.46% or 0.0064 points to 0.2663 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Ibersol SGPS (LS:IBS), which fell 3.41% or 0.415 points to trade at 11.770 at the close. Novabase SGPS (LS:NBA) declined 1.51% or 0.046 points to end at 3.001 and CTT Correios de Portugal SA (LS:CTT) was down 1.10% or 0.0350 points to 3.1350.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 20 to 16 and 6 ended unchanged.
Shares in Sonae (LS:YSO) rose to 52-week highs; up 2.55% or 0.0270 to 1.0840. Shares in Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP) rose to 52-week highs; up 2.46% or 0.0064 to 0.2663.
Brent oil for February delivery was up 1.01% or 0.63 to $63.08 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 0.68% or 0.39 to hit $57.86 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract fell 0.91% or 11.60 to trade at $1266.10 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.45% to 1.1813, while EUR/GBP fell 0.19% to 0.8785.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.33% at 93.36.
