Investing.com – Peru stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Mining, S&P Lima Juniors and Food & Beverages sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General added 0.29%.
The best performers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Volcan Minera (LM:VOL_pb), which rose 8.89% or 0.040 points to trade at 0.490 at the close. Meanwhile, Atacocha (LM:ATB) added 2.65% or 0.004 points to end at 0.155 and Buenaventura (LM:BVN) was up 2.30% or 0.150 points to 6.680 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Bco Continenta (LM:CON), which fell 14.12% or 0.590 points to trade at 3.590 at the close. Sociedad Minera el Brocal SAA (LM:BRO) declined 12.28% or 0.700 points to end at 5.000 and Aceros Arequip (LM:AREi) was down 5.26% or 0.020 points to 0.360.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lima Stock Exchange by 18 to 4 and 9 ended unchanged.
Shares in Sociedad Minera el Brocal SAA (LM:BRO) fell to all time lows; losing 12.28% or 0.700 to 5.000. Shares in Buenaventura (LM:BVN) rose to 3-years lows; gaining 2.30% or 0.150 to 6.680.
Crude oil for September delivery was unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to $45.10 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September fell 0.73% or 0.36 to hit $49.62 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.01% or 0.10 to trade at $1084.10 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was up 0.39% to 3.2025, while EUR/PEN fell 0.93% to 3.4664.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.07% at 97.97.
