Investing.com – Peru stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Food & Beverages, Non-Metal Minerals and Mining sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General added 0.04%.
The best performers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Buenaventura (LM:BVN), which rose 3.17% or 0.350 points to trade at 11.400 at the close. Meanwhile, Volcan Minera (LM:VOL_pb) added 2.94% or 0.020 points to end at 0.700 and Atacocha (LM:ATB) was up 2.37% or 0.008 points to 0.346 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Sider (LM:SID), which fell 2.94% or 0.010 points to trade at 0.330 at the close. Aceros Arequip (LM:AREi) declined 2.08% or 0.010 points to end at 0.470 and Edegel (LM:EDE) was down 1.25% or 0.030 points to 2.370.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lima Stock Exchange by 14 to 12 and 7 ended unchanged.
Shares in Volcan Minera (LM:VOL_pb) rose to 52-week highs; up 2.94% or 0.020 to 0.700.
Crude oil for January delivery was up 1.85% or 0.85 to $46.91 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in February rose 1.53% or 0.74 to hit $48.98 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 1.20% or 14.10 to trade at $1192.50 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was down 0.16% to 3.4170, while EUR/PEN rose 0.36% to 3.6255.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.21% at 101.27.
