Investing.com – Norway stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Consumer Durables And Apparel, Media and Pharma Biotech & Life Sciences sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Oslo, the Oslo OBX rose 0.35% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the Oslo OBX were Bw Lpg (OL:BWLPG), which rose 4.78% or 1.21 points to trade at 26.55 at the close. Meanwhile, TGS-NOPEC Geophysical Company ASA (OL:TGS) added 2.98% or 4.5 points to end at 155.6 and Golden Ocean Group Ltd (OL:GOGLT) was up 2.97% or 1.00 points to 34.70 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Norwegian Air Shuttle ASA (OL:NWC), which fell 3.51% or 10.3 points to trade at 282.8 at the close. Akastor ASA (OL:AKAS) declined 2.22% or 0.2 points to end at 8.8 and REC Silicon ASA (OL:REC) was down 1.57% or 0.02 points to 1.13.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Oslo Stock Exchange by 101 to 75 and 24 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for November delivery was up 1.02% or 0.51 to $50.34 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 1.18% or 0.61 to hit $52.47 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.77% or 9.75 to trade at $1258.85 a troy ounce.
EUR/NOK was down 0.12% to 8.9749, while USD/NOK rose 0.29% to 8.0404.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.44% at 96.55.
