Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Telecoms, Oil & Gas and Healthcare sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX fell 1.32% to hit a new 1-month low.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were Unibail Rodamco SE (AS:UNBP), which rose 0.92% or 1.95 points to trade at 214.90 at the close. Meanwhile, Koninklijke Ahold Delhaize NV (AS:AD) fell 0.27% or 0.06 points to end at 20.29 and Heineken (AS:HEIN) was down 0.38% or 0.28 points to 74.35 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Wolters Kluwer (AS:WLSNc), which fell 4.27% or 1.49 points to trade at 33.33 at the close. Altice NV (AS:ATCA) declined 4.07% or 0.67 points to end at 15.81 and Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) was down 2.75% or 1.520 points to 53.800.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 146 to 31 and 7 ended unchanged.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 1.51% to 22.30 a new 3-months high.
Crude oil for December delivery was down 3.15% or 1.47 to $45.20 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in January fell 3.16% or 1.52 to hit $46.62 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 1.55% or 19.95 to trade at $1307.95 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.49% to 1.1110, while EUR/GBP fell 0.06% to 0.9026.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.50% at 97.27.
