Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Oil & Gas and Financials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX rose 1.18%.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT), which rose 3.78% or 0.750 points to trade at 20.610 at the close. Meanwhile, Aegon NV (AS:AEGN) added 3.65% or 0.163 points to end at 4.634 and Gemalto (AS:GTO) was up 3.35% or 1.76 points to 54.31 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Unibail Rodamco SE (AS:UNBP), which fell 0.95% or 2.10 points to trade at 218.55 at the close. Koninklijke Ahold Delhaize NV (AS:AD) declined 0.21% or 0.04 points to end at 16.70 and Wolters Kluwer (AS:WLSNc) was down 0.18% or 0.07 points to 37.00.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 82 to 43 and 11 ended unchanged.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 15.28% to 12.85.
Crude oil for August delivery was up 1.61% or 0.74 to $46.78 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 1.37% or 0.67 to hit $49.44 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 1.53% or 18.97 to trade at $1223.33 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.58% to 1.1360, while EUR/GBP rose 0.02% to 0.8772.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.60% at 95.96.
