Investing.com – Morocco stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Pharmaceutical Industry, Insurance and Telecoms sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Casablanca, the Moroccan All Shares fell 0.15%.
The best performers of the session on the Moroccan All Shares were Med Paper (CS:PAP), which rose 10.00% or 1.60 points to trade at 17.60 at the close. Meanwhile, M2M Group (CS:M2M) added 5.83% or 16.00 points to end at 290.00 and S2M (CS:S2M) was up 5.52% or 11.00 points to 210.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Stokvis Nord Afrique (CS:SNA), which fell 5.56% or 1.38 points to trade at 23.42 at the close. Stroc Industrie (CS:STR) declined 3.31% or 1.65 points to end at 48.05 and LafargeHolcim Maroc (CS:LHM) was down 3.23% or 71 points to 2126.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Casablanca Stock Exchange by 22 to 12 and 11 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for September delivery was down 1.98% or 0.83 to $41.09 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 1.69% or 0.74 to hit $43.17 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.53% or 7.05 to trade at $1341.55 a troy ounce.
EUR/MAD was up 0.20% to 10.8690, while USD/MAD rose 0.09% to 9.8177.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.13% at 96.62.
