Investing.com – Morocco stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Chemicals, Insurance and Holding Companies sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Casablanca, the Moroccan All Shares rose 1.38% to hit a new 5-year high.
The best performers of the session on the Moroccan All Shares were Snep (CS:SNP), which rose 8.70% or 20.00 points to trade at 250.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Fenie Brossette (CS:FBR) added 7.21% or 6.39 points to end at 94.99 and Wafa Assurance (CS:WASS) was up 6.16% or 290 points to 5000 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were BMCI (CS:BMCI), which fell 5.48% or 35 points to trade at 604 at the close. Lydec (CS:LYD) declined 5.28% or 31.50 points to end at 565.00 and CDM (CS:CDM) was down 5.19% or 27 points to 493.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Casablanca Stock Exchange by 31 to 21 and 4 ended unchanged.
Shares in Snep (CS:SNP) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 8.70% or 20.00 to 250.00. Shares in Wafa Assurance (CS:WASS) rose to all time highs; gaining 6.16% or 290 to 5000.
Crude oil for February delivery was down 1.02% or 0.53 to $51.43 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in March fell 1.31% or 0.72 to hit $54.22 a barrel, while the February Gold contract rose 0.18% or 2.10 to trade at $1187.00 a troy ounce.
EUR/MAD was down 0.02% to 10.6800, while USD/MAD rose 0.14% to 10.1015.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.01% at 101.91.
