Investing.com – Morocco stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Utilities, Chemicals and Food Producers & Processors sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Casablanca, the Moroccan All Shares gained 0.54%.
The best performers of the session on the Moroccan All Shares were Stroc Industrie (CS:STR), which rose 10.00% or 4.86 points to trade at 53.48 at the close. Meanwhile, Jet Contractors (CS:JET) added 9.97% or 14.25 points to end at 157.20 and Sonasid (CS:SOND) was up 8.87% or 50 points to 615 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Delattre Levivier Maroc (CS:DLM), which fell 5.67% or 10.65 points to trade at 177.10 at the close. IB Maroc Com SA (CS:IBC) declined 5.33% or 4.95 points to end at 88.00 and BMCI (CS:BMCI) was down 5.11% or 34 points to 640.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Casablanca Stock Exchange by 28 to 16 and 5 ended unchanged.
Shares in Sonasid (CS:SOND) rose to 52-week highs; up 8.87% or 50 to 615.
Crude oil for September delivery was up 1.38% or 0.66 to $48.55 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 1.10% or 0.55 to hit $50.75 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.18% or 2.24 to trade at $1249.86 a troy ounce.
EUR/MAD was down 0.01% to 11.0940, while USD/MAD rose 0.09% to 9.5367.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.12% at 94.03.
