Investing.com – Mexico stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Financial Services, Industrials and Consumer Goods & Services sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC fell 1.47%.
The best performers of the session on the IPC were Genomma Lab Internacional SAB De CV (MX:LABB), which rose 3.58% or 0.810 points to trade at 23.420 at the close. Meanwhile, Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (MX:PENOLES) added 2.12% or 9.720 points to end at 468.110 and Grupo Televisa SA (MX:TLVACPO) was up 0.39% or 0.360 points to 93.360 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Alsea , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALSEA), which fell 3.71% or 2.620 points to trade at 67.920 at the close. Fomento Economico Mexicano UBD (MX:FMSAUBD) declined 3.50% or 6.350 points to end at 174.950 and Grupo Aeroportuario Del CentroNorte (MX:OMAB) was down 3.41% or 3.750 points to 106.220.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 98 to 72 and 4 ended unchanged.
Shares in Genomma Lab Internacional SAB De CV (MX:LABB) rose to 52-week highs; rising 3.58% or 0.810 to 23.420.
Gold for December delivery was up 1.29% or 16.45 to $1289.55 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 1.02% or 0.48 to hit $46.38 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 1.32% or 0.64 to trade at $47.97 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 1.71% to 19.1828, while EUR/MXN rose 2.39% to 21.2080.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.57% at 97.76.
