Investing.com – Mexico stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Materials, Financial Services and Telecoms Services sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC declined 1.28% to hit a new 1-month low.
The best performers of the session on the IPC were Genomma Lab Internacional SAB De CV (MX:LABB), which rose 1.85% or 0.310 points to trade at 17.110 at the close. Meanwhile, Grupo Carso, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:GCARSOA1) added 1.23% or 0.880 points to end at 72.660 and Gentera SAB de CV (MX:GENTERA) was up 0.81% or 0.220 points to 27.360 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Empresas ICA , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ICA), which fell 10.12% or 0.870 points to trade at 7.690 at the close. Ohl Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:OHLMEX) declined 4.15% or 0.930 points to end at 21.290 and Grupo Simec, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:SIMECB) was down 3.78% or 1.650 points to 41.990.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 98 to 46 and 5 ended unchanged.
Gold for December delivery was down 1.21% or 13.90 to $1131.70 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 2.70% or 1.24 to hit $44.47 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 2.56% or 1.25 to trade at $47.35 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.47% to 17.0544, while EUR/MXN rose 0.85% to 19.1687.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.23% at 96.14.
