Investing.com – Mexico stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Telecoms Services, Consumer Goods & Services and Financial Services sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC fell 0.22%.
The best performers of the session on the IPC were Infraestructura Energetica Nova SAB (MX:IENOVA), which rose 2.69% or 2.52 points to trade at 96.04 at the close. Meanwhile, Genomma Lab Internacional SAB De CV (MX:LABB) added 1.69% or 0.390 points to end at 23.470 and Nemak SAB de CV (MX:NEMAKA) was up 1.32% or 0.23 points to 17.61 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were VOLARIS A (MX:VOLARA), which fell 2.53% or 0.67 points to trade at 25.82 at the close. Gentera SAB de CV (MX:GENTERA) declined 2.07% or 0.600 points to end at 28.430 and Grupo Carso, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:GCARSOA1) was down 1.97% or 1.530 points to 76.160.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 127 to 120 and 7 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.29% or 3.58 to $1249.98 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 1.82% or 0.79 to hit $44.17 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 1.80% or 0.83 to trade at $46.87 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.58% to 17.9718, while EUR/MXN rose 2.01% to 20.3853.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 1.02% at 96.12.
