Investing.com – Mexico stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Telecoms Services, Materials and Consumer Staples sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC declined 0.53% to hit a new 52-week low.
The best performers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Grupo Carso, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:GCARSOA1), which rose 2.91% or 1.720 points to trade at 60.780 at the close. Meanwhile, Arca Continental , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:AC) added 2.69% or 3.11 points to end at 118.86 and Kimberly - Clark De Mexico A (MX:KIMBERA) was up 1.59% or 0.530 points to 33.790 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Grupo Televisa SAB Unit (MX:TLVACPO), which fell 3.15% or 2.18 points to trade at 67.09 at the close. Grupo Aeroportuario Del CentroNorte (MX:OMAB) declined 2.22% or 2.200 points to end at 97.050 and Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (MX:PENOLES) was down 1.57% or 5.44 points to 340.03.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 85 to 61 and 15 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.48% or 6.20 to $1297.50 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 2.08% or 1.41 to hit $66.47 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 1.49% or 1.14 to trade at $75.33 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.22% to 19.6025, while EUR/MXN rose 0.08% to 22.7903.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.16% at 94.36.
