Investing.com – Mexico stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Consumer Goods & Services, Industrials and Consumer Staples sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC lost 0.23%.
The best performers of the session on the IPC were Cemex SAB de CV (MX:CMXCPO), which rose 2.99% or 0.490 points to trade at 16.890 at the close. Meanwhile, Alsea , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALSEA) added 1.38% or 0.890 points to end at 65.460 and Arca Continental , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:AC) was up 0.94% or 1.21 points to 130.34 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Ohl Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:OHLMEX), which fell 3.60% or 0.930 points to trade at 24.920 at the close. Coca Cola Femsa SAB De CV (MX:KOFL) declined 2.55% or 3.87 points to end at 147.81 and Grupo Financiero Santander Mexico SAB De CV (MX:SANMEXB) was down 2.27% or 0.860 points to 36.960.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 116 to 92 and 9 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.44% or 5.82 to $1313.08 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 0.99% or 0.46 to hit $45.98 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 2.05% or 1.06 to trade at $50.60 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.64% to 17.7289, while EUR/MXN fell 1.38% to 21.0664.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.65% at 92.87.
