Investing.com – Mexico stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Financial Services, Telecoms Services and Consumer Staples sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC rose 0.75%.
The best performers of the session on the IPC were Grupo Bimbo, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:BIMBOA), which rose 4.01% or 2.050 points to trade at 53.160 at the close. Meanwhile, Grupo Financiero Banorte (MX:GFNORTEO) added 3.83% or 3.890 points to end at 105.570 and Banregio Grupo Financiero SAB De CV (MX:GFREGIOO) was up 3.32% or 3.690 points to 114.720 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (MX:PENOLES), which fell 3.24% or 15.080 points to trade at 451.000 at the close. Grupo Elektra , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ELEKTRA) declined 3.07% or 7.710 points to end at 243.370 and Ohl Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:OHLMEX) was down 2.18% or 0.560 points to 25.160.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 81 to 73 and 4 ended unchanged.
Shares in Banregio Grupo Financiero SAB De CV (MX:GFREGIOO) rose to all time highs; up 3.32% or 3.690 to 114.720.
Gold for December delivery was down 0.16% or 2.05 to $1315.05 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 0.87% or 0.42 to hit $48.66 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 1.24% or 0.62 to trade at $50.81 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.51% to 19.2899, while EUR/MXN fell 0.79% to 21.6265.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.25% at 95.62.
