Investing.com – Mexico stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Industrials, Healthcare and Consumer Staples sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC gained 0.61%.
The best performers of the session on the IPC were Bolsa Mexicana De Valores SAB De CV (MX:BOLSAA), which rose 3.51% or 1.080 points to trade at 31.840 at the close. Meanwhile, Ohl Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:OHLMEX) added 3.33% or 0.760 points to end at 23.580 and Wal - Mart De Mexico, SAB De CV (MX:WALMEX) was up 2.85% or 1.170 points to 42.290 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Nemak SAB de CV (MX:NEMAKA), which fell 1.83% or 0.34 points to trade at 18.20 at the close. Gruma SAB de CV (MX:GRUMAB) declined 1.43% or 3.42 points to end at 236.50 and VOLARIS A (MX:VOLARA) was down 0.86% or 0.22 points to 25.43.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 168 to 135 and 10 ended unchanged.
Shares in Gruma SAB de CV (MX:GRUMAB) fell to 52-week lows; down 1.43% or 3.42 to 236.50.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.55% or 7.01 to $1261.59 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 3.72% or 1.73 to hit $44.73 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 3.53% or 1.72 to trade at $47.00 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.68% to 17.9280, while EUR/MXN fell 0.65% to 20.1039.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.05% at 96.92.
