Investing.com – Mexico stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Materials, Industrials and Consumer Goods & Services sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC added 0.55% to hit a new all time high.
The best performers of the session on the IPC were Alfa, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALFAA), which rose 2.96% or 0.900 points to trade at 31.350 at the close. Meanwhile, Cemex SAB de CV (MX:CMXCPO) added 2.90% or 0.350 points to end at 12.400 and Grupo LALA SA de CV (MX:LALAB) was up 2.75% or 1.12 points to 41.81 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Genomma Lab Internacional SAB De CV (MX:LABB), which fell 3.60% or 0.770 points to trade at 20.590 at the close. Telesites SAB de CV (MX:SITESL) declined 1.60% or 0.180 points to end at 11.080 and Fomento Economico Mexicano UBD (MX:FMSAUBD) was down 1.00% or 1.690 points to 166.950.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 87 to 63 and 7 ended unchanged.
Gold for August delivery was down 1.68% or 22.75 to $1333.85 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 3.91% or 1.75 to hit $46.51 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 4.06% or 1.88 to trade at $48.13 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.65% to 18.3479, while EUR/MXN fell 0.63% to 20.2936.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.03% at 96.55.
