Investing.com – Mexico stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Telecoms Services, Healthcare and Financial Services sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC added 0.47% to hit a new all time high.
The best performers of the session on the IPC were VOLARIS A (MX:VOLARA), which rose 2.77% or 0.69 points to trade at 25.56 at the close. Meanwhile, Gentera SAB de CV (MX:GENTERA) added 2.07% or 0.620 points to end at 30.640 and Grupo Financiero Banorte (MX:GFNORTEO) was up 2.07% or 2.290 points to 113.000 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were El Puerto De Liverpool Sab De CV (MX:LIVEPOLC1), which fell 3.46% or 5.39 points to trade at 150.49 at the close. Grupo Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:GMEXICOB) declined 3.32% or 2.000 points to end at 58.160 and Grupo Carso, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:GCARSOA1) was down 2.44% or 2.250 points to 89.980.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 166 to 129 and 5 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.49% or 6.15 to $1254.65 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May fell 0.35% or 0.17 to hit $47.80 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract rose 0.04% or 0.02 to trade at $50.94 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.69% to 18.8852, while EUR/MXN rose 1.30% to 20.5211.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.59% at 99.00.
