Investing.com – Mexico stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Materials, Telecoms Services and Consumer Staples sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC rose 0.08%.
The best performers of the session on the IPC were Grupo Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:GMEXICOB), which rose 3.07% or 1.710 points to trade at 57.340 at the close. Meanwhile, Wal - Mart De Mexico, SAB De CV (MX:WALMEX) added 2.13% or 0.890 points to end at 42.630 and Grupo Financiero Santander Mexico SAB De CV (MX:SANMEXB) was up 2.05% or 0.750 points to 37.390 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Grupo Financiero Banorte (MX:GFNORTEO), which fell 2.23% or 2.710 points to trade at 118.900 at the close. Grupo Elektra , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ELEKTRA) declined 2.18% or 17.68 points to end at 795.00 and Grupo Aeroportuario Del CentroNorte (MX:OMAB) was down 1.89% or 2.160 points to 112.120.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 193 to 81 and 7 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.31% or 3.83 to $1250.47 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 3.63% or 1.68 to hit $48.02 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 3.48% or 1.69 to trade at $50.29 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.42% to 17.8019, while EUR/MXN rose 0.47% to 20.7374.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.13% at 93.94.
