Investing.com – Mexico stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Consumer Goods & Services, Telecoms Services and Industrials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC rose 0.05% to hit a new all time high.
The best performers of the session on the IPC were VOLARIS A (MX:VOLARA), which rose 4.37% or 1.12 points to trade at 26.74 at the close. Meanwhile, Grupo Elektra , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ELEKTRA) added 3.68% or 14.48 points to end at 407.96 and Grupo Financiero Santander Mexico (MX:SANMEXB) was up 2.51% or 0.840 points to 34.350 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Grupo Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:GMEXICOB), which fell 2.70% or 1.570 points to trade at 56.650 at the close. Grupo Financiero Banorte (MX:GFNORTEO) declined 2.16% or 2.440 points to end at 110.450 and Bolsa Mexicana De Valores SAB De CV (MX:BOLSAA) was down 1.18% or 0.360 points to 30.180.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 185 to 93 and 7 ended unchanged.
Shares in Grupo Elektra, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ELEKTRA) rose to 52-week highs; up 3.68% or 14.48 to 407.96.
Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.36% or 4.55 to $1251.15 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May rose 1.36% or 0.65 to hit $48.38 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract rose 0.96% or 0.49 to trade at $51.39 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.61% to 19.0093, while EUR/MXN rose 0.15% to 20.5574.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.47% at 99.50.
