Investing.com – Mexico stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Materials, Industrials and Consumer Goods & Services sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC added 0.56%.
The best performers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (MX:PENOLES), which rose 4.64% or 16.50 points to trade at 372.29 at the close. Meanwhile, Kimberly - Clark De Mexico A (MX:KIMBERA) added 3.86% or 1.250 points to end at 33.620 and Gentera SAB de CV (MX:GENTERA) was up 3.67% or 0.530 points to 14.970 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Fomento Economico Mexicano UBD (MX:FMSAUBD), which fell 1.81% or 3.06 points to trade at 166.00 at the close. Grupo Televisa SAB Unit (MX:TLVACPO) declined 0.98% or 0.71 points to end at 71.50 and VOLARIS A (MX:VOLARA) was down 0.81% or 0.09 points to 11.05.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 166 to 107 and 12 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.65% or 8.60 to $1321.60 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 0.35% or 0.25 to hit $71.39 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 0.26% or 0.20 to trade at $77.41 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 1.74% to 19.2284, while EUR/MXN fell 1.21% to 22.9198.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.42% at 92.56.
