Investing.com – Italy stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Telecoms, Chemicals and Utilities sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 declined 0.21%.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Yoox Net-A-Porter Group SpA (MI:YNAP), which rose 6.02% or 1.25 points to trade at 22.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Mediaset (MI:MS) added 3.93% or 0.118 points to end at 3.120 and Mediobanca (MI:MDBI) was up 3.44% or 0.162 points to 4.874 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena SpA (MI:BMPS), which fell 5.79% or 0.0163 points to trade at 0.2650 at the close. Banca Pop Emilia Romagna (MI:EMII) declined 4.51% or 0.122 points to end at 2.582 and CNH Industrial NV (MI:CNHI) was down 3.96% or 0.235 points to 5.695.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 225 to 167 and 18 ended unchanged.
Shares in Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena SpA (MI:BMPS) fell to all time lows; falling 5.79% or 0.0163 to 0.2650. Shares in Banca Pop Emilia Romagna (MI:EMII) fell to 5-year lows; losing 4.51% or 0.122 to 2.582.
Crude oil for August delivery was down 3.04% or 1.44 to $45.99 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September fell 3.09% or 1.51 to hit $47.29 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.54% or 7.45 to trade at $1359.65 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.31% to 1.1065, while EUR/GBP fell 0.24% to 0.8563.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.16% at 96.28.
